Bulgaria’s Auto Union Plans to Acquire Daru Car

Auto Union AD, the automotive sales division of Eurohold Bulgaria Inc. and the largest seller of new cars in the country, plans to acquire local BMW and Mahindra dealer Daru Car, the Competition Protection Commission (CPC), which is reviewing the deal said. No financial terms were disclosed. The deal is in line with the strategy of Auto Union to expand its market share in the segment of premium brands. The acquisition shall be accomplished following authorization by the CPC.

Auto Union had a 13% share of the local new car market in July. The company sells Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Maserati, Nissan, Renault, Dacia, Mazda, Chevrolet, Opel and Saab cars in Bulgaria.

Daru Car is the authorized dealer of BMW, Land Rover and Mahindra vehicles.
