ZMZ Launches Pilot Production of Euro-4 Engines

The 2.7 litre 4-cylinder ZMZ-40905 engines will be installed in UAZ vehicles. The new Euro-4 powerplant has 27 newly developed components over the older, less envinromental friendly unit of the same displacement. Design changes have been made primarily to the engine electronic control unit and valve control parts. Serial production of the new engine is due to commence in the beginning of 2012.

Russia is to adopt Euro-4 emission standards as of January 1st, 2012.
