ZAZ Chance Gets Automatic Transmission

The four-speed automatic transmission will be offered as optional equipment for ZAZ Chance cars with 1.4 liter 101hp petrol engines. This new option will be offered to Russian customners from October. The car will compete against the Lada Granta, which, however, will become available with automatic transmission only by mid-2012 year.

The Chance is not the only ZAZ-branded low-cost B-segment model. In early 2012 the company will begin production of the previous generation Chevrolet Aveo sedan and five-door hatchback. In Ukraine, it will be sold under the name ZAZ Aveo, but in Russia it will be called the ZAZ Point. The car is expected to hit Russian showrooms in the first quarter of 2012.
