TRW Inaugurates New Safety Systems Plant in Romania

The new plant is TRW’s fifth operation in the country and specializes in the production of airbags and steering wheels. The investment created 120 new jobs, with the number to surge to 300 by the end of 2012, and to 600 at a later stage.

TRW has been present in Romania since April 2004, with its subsidiary TRW Automotive Safety Systems, owning a steering wheel and airbag module facility in Timisoara that covers over 3,800 square meter and has 921 workers. In 2007, the firm opened its first site outside the Timis county, in Oravita, and later another three, in Resita, Deta and Lupeni.
