Toyota Boshoku Acquires Polytec’s Interior Business

Japanese supplier company Toyota Boshoku Corporation has signed an agreement with Polytec Holding AG of Austria to acquire Polytec's interior business with eight manufacturing sites in Germany (6), Poland (1) and South Africa (1) and one development/research site in Germany. This newly acquired interior business will, once the transaction has been completed by end of June, operate as Boshoku Automotive Europe GmbH, based in Geretsried, Germany.

The interior business so acquired currently serves major German automobile manufacturers including BMW, Daimler, Volkswagen and Opel as a key supplier for interior parts (e.g. door trim panels and headliners), and thus interior business possesses special know-how and profound experience in delivering high-quality products, which are unique to European cars.

Polytec Interior Polska Sp. z o.o. produces interior trim components such as centre consoles, pillar covers, seat back panels, door panels, etc. Its customers include Audi, BMW, GM, Saab, Volkswagen and Volvo.

The newly acquired interior business will operate as Boshoku Automotive Europe GmbH
