Subaru May Assemble Cars in the Russian Far-East

In an interview with the Russian RBC Daily newspaper, Subaru Motor CEO Kazushi Yoshida said that the the company has received several offers from Russian automakers and Subaru is currently considering the opening of a plant in the Russian Far East.

The Subaru Motor official says that the automaker’s annual sales in Russia are expected to reach at least 30.000 units by 2015, which is the same year when the Japanese based company might open its assembly line.

Rumors are that the Russian Far East Subaru plant might have a total capacity of 25.000 to 35.000 units annually but there’s no word yet on the initial investment or the number of work places which will become available.
