MLADA BOLESLAV, Czech Republic - The quality and environmental management systems of Skoda Auto have been fully certified again. Thus, independent experts have again conformed the high quality of the products and processes of the largest Czech automobile manufacturer. Within the course of the recently conducted revision audit of the integrated management system of Skoda, the TÜV NORD Czech awarded the two certificates ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management Standard) and ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management Standard). Furthermore, the assembly production of the manufacturer received the certificate VDA 6.1 and tool-making and jig-making the certificate VDA 6.4.
“The award of the certificates demonstrates that our integrated management system works extremely well. At the same time, they guarantee the high quality of our vehicles and our above-average environmental awareness,” emphasized Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland, the chairman of the board ofSkoda Auto.
Within the course of the revision audit, the TÜV Nord Czech also confirmed the high process quality of the product development department at Skoda. The company fulfills the directives 2005/64/ES and 2009/1/ES. According to these directives, for example, only certain materials may be utilized. Furthermore, a recycling quota of 85 % of the weight of the vehicle must be achieved.
The certification according to VDA 6.1 aims its focus at quality management systems of suppliers for the automobile industry. The certification according to VDA 6.4 concerns the piece production, e.g. the production of tools and jigs.
