Škoda Completes First Phase of Mladá Boleslav Logistics Center Expansion

Škoda Original Parts are made in Mladá Boleslav. Now the first phase of the expansion of the worldwide logistics center for original parts and original accessories has been completed and the new delivery facility has started its trial operation. The existing expansion is part of a project, in which Škoda is investing a total of CZK800 million (€32 million). In the second phase, the project will continue with the erection of an automated high rack warehouse. It will be completed at the end of 2012.

The construction of the new hall took 11 months. The newly opened delivery terminal expands the surface area of the center for original parts and original accessories to a total of 68,600 m². The surface area of the new terminal consists of 18,600 m². The new hall has been designed in such a way that the logistics area of the Škoda Parts Center can be expanded according to demand. With the expansion of the logistics capacities, the speed and quality of the handling and delivery of orders will be further enhanced.

In the Škoda Parts Center more than 500 employees from the departments of sales, procurement, material planning, IT, and logistics are working in a three-shift operation. Every day, an average of more than 24,000 items are processed and dispatched worldwide to more than 100 markets. Overall, more than 1,000 suppliers ship their products to the Parts Center.
