Sibur-Russian Tyres Starts Supplies to VW Russia

OJSC SIBUR-Russian Tyres, one of the leading tyre producers in Russia, has started supplies of Cordiant brand tyres to the Volkswagen Polo sedan, which is being produced at the German carmaker’s Kaluga plant. Two years of negotiations with VW came into fruition in May with starting deliveries of Cordiant tyres to the Polo. The value of the deal has not been revealed. The supplier will deliver 100 thousand tyres for the Polo this year, while Cordiant brand tyres will possibly appear on other Russian-built VW models in the future.

SIBUR-Russian Tyres operates four producing facilities: the "Yaroslavl Tyre Plant" in the city of Yaroslavl, "Voltyre-Prom" in Volgograd region, "Omskshina" in Omsk and located in "Uralshina" in Yekaterinburg. The company is the main shareholder of industrial rubber products plant "Rezinotekhnika" in Saransk and synthetic fiber and cord plant "Sibur Volzhskiy". It also established an equally owned JV with Slovakia’s Matador in 1995.
