Sava Announces Name Change to Goodyear Dunlop Sava Tires

The Kranj, Slovenia-based Sava Tires Company, owned by tire giant Goodyear, announced at a press conference on June 28 that it would change its name on 1 July to Goodyear Dunlop Sava Tires and that extensive investments will continue. The new name will make the company more recognisable by including all of Goodyear's brands, while also bringing into line with other Goodyear Dunlop companies in Europe. Furthermore, it is expected the new name will give the company greater visibility and strengthen its market position.

Sava Tires posted revenues of €374 million in 2010 (up 25% y-o-y), finishing the year with a net profit of €14.3 million. Investments in the Kranj plant were also considerably higher last year, as production needed to be ramped up. If the company's market continues to grow, a new production plant in Slovenia may also be needed.

The change will bring company name in line with the other Goodyear Dunlop Tires Europe companies
