Rehau Begins Trial Production at Second Czech Plant

The expansion is linked to the company’s decision to concentrate production of extruded profiles for the automotive industry in the Czech Republic and Spain. Rehau acquired the 7,700 m2 facility in Jevicko from U.S. Global Safety Textiles (GST). Total investment in the acquisition of the plant and adoptation of appropriate technologies amounted to CZK80 million (app. €3.2 million), local newswire autofox reported. The facility currently has 80 employees, who are former workers from the Moravska Trebova site. Rehau plans to create an additional 120 jobs at the Jevicko plant by the end of 2012. At present, there are two plastic extrusion lines installed there and next year will see the purchase of three more lines. Serial production of plastic automotive components will start in early 2012.
Rehau plans to open an R&D centre in the Czech Republic in 2012. It will have offices both in Moravska Trebova (injection, assembly) as well as in Jevicko (extrusion).

German polymer processing company Rehau AG + Co. has commenced production of automotive plastic components at its new site in Jevicko, some 20 km away from its operation in Moravska Trebova
