Volkswagen AG will integrate the Czech distribution network of Import Volkswagen Group s.r.o. into Austria-based Porsche Holding GmbH
Porsche Holding will take over the Prague-based wholesaler Import Volkswagen Group s.r.o. (IVG), effective as of January 1st, 2012, for an undisclosed price, Austrian daily Wirtschaftsblatt reports. The Volkswagen subsidiary Porsche Holding will expand its retail activities in the Czech Republic (Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Porsche) with the wholesale distribution of the Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Audi and SEAT brands. All 126 employees of IVG will be taken over by Porsche Holding.
IVG’s distribution and service network currently includes 117 service centres, 38 authorized Volkswagen dealers, 45 Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles dealers, 19 Audi dealers and 26 SEAT dealers. Distribution of the Skoda brand in the Czech Republic is carried out directly by the manufacturer Skoda Auto.
The Porsche Holding Salzburg is one of the biggest automobile distributor in Europe. It is represented in 20 different countries throughout Europe and also has locations in China.
