Opel Suspends Production for 4 Days at Gliwice Plant

General Motors Manufacturing Poland (GMMP) has halted production for four working days as of Thursday, November 17th, due to a decline in demand in Western European markets, where 95% of the plant’s output is destined, reported Rzeczpospolita. Suspending the production means the car maker will reduce output by 3,400 cars.
The Gliwice factory suspended production on three consecutive Fridays in September, also due to low demand.

It is expected that this year's total output will amount to 174 thousand vehicles, which is 8 thousand less than it predicted before the summer period, when the European market appeared more stable.
However, an annual comparison shows a 8.7% increase compared to the 160,000 cars the company produced in 2010.
