Opel Holds Topping Out Ceremony at €500m Plant in Hungary

The new factory is part of the carmaker’s €500 million expansion program and is expected to launch production of three new 3 and 4-cylinder small displacement engines from the end of 2012. The investment will create 700 to 800 jobs at the base, but several thousand more among the plant's suppliers. Opel was awarded a HUF5.5 billion (€19 million) state subsidy for the investment.
