Nissan to Produce 50 Thousand Cars at St. Petersburg Plant in 2011

Nissan’s St. Petersburg plant will churn out 50 thousand vehicles this year, more than doubling its annual output compared to last year’s 24.5 thousand units. The company currently builds the Teana business sedan, the X-Trail SUV and the Murano crossover, and it does not plan to extend the model line-up in the near future. The facility, which introduced a third shift in April, produced 17 thousand cars (+90%) in the first half of 2011.
