Nexteer Gets Green Light for Expansion in Tychy

Nexteer Automotive (formerly Delphi Steering), a global leader in advanced steering and driveline systems, has received green light for a major project to expand its Tychy plant in southwestern Poland. The company will invest PLN150 million (approx. €38 million) at the facility in the Katowice Special Economic Zone, bringing 30 new jobs and maintaining the 1,200 existing ones until 2020.

The Tychy factory is Nexteer’s biggest plant in terms of employment and output (it is also home to one of the firm's five engineering centres). Nexteer also operates a second factory in Poland, in Gliwice. In 2010 the two plants produced 50% of the group’s total output of 12 million driveline and steering systems.
