According to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers’ Committee, total sales of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in October 2025 amounted to 167,649 units.
According to the PPC JSC, new car sales in October amounted to 170,742 units, which is 6% less than in October 2024.
In January-October 2025, sales of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia are significantly behind the figures for the first ten months of 2024 (-21%) and amount to 1 092 974 vehicles, PPC JSC reports.
Chairman of the Automobile Manufacturers Committee, Alexey Kalitsev comments:
“As anticipated, driven by expectations of an increase in the disposal fee, the automotive market saw explosive growth in October 2025, surging 35% compared to the previous month. However, it still hasn't reached the same level as last year (-6%). The postponement of the scheduled disposal fee increase, along with a potential VAT increase in 2026, will likely continue to serve as key incentives for purchasing new vehicles in November. We can now say with a high degree of certainty that sales of new passenger and light commercial vehicles in 2025 may exceed our previously announced forecast of 1.28 million units, but will still be lower than last year's results.”
