According to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee, a total of 114,625 new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in Russia in June 2026.
According to data obtained from PPC JSC, the market size in June 2026 was 118,044 units, which is 27.5% more than sales in June last year. In the first half of 2026, sales of new passenger cars and LCVs in Russia increased by 10% compared to the same period in 2025, totaling 600,844 units.
Chairman of the Automobile Manufacturers Committee, Alexey Kalitsev comments:
"The first half of 2026 was more stable compared to the significant market decline experienced in 2025, with the market demonstrating moderate growth.
At present, we do not see any prerequisites for rapid, large-scale market growth. The key market drivers— including regulatory measures, the high key interest rate, the VAT increase, and exchange rate fluctuations— remain largely unchanged and continue to constrain market development. Under these conditions, the market is moving within a relatively narrow range, maintaining steady year-on-year growth but showing no signs of rapid acceleration in the foreseeable future.
Overall, the market situation remains unpredictable and sensitive to changes in the macroeconomic environment and regulatory policy. Therefore, we maintain our full-year market forecast at 1.4 million vehicles sold."
