According to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee, a total of 119,229 new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in Russia in July 2026.
According to data obtained from PPC JSC, the market size in July 2026 was 124,416 units, which is 0.3% more than sales in July last year. In the first seven months of 2026, sales of new passenger cars and LCVs in Russia increased by 8% compared to the same period in 2025, totaling 725,251 units.
Chairman of the Automobile Manufacturers Committee, Alexey Kalitsev comments:
"The Russian automotive market in July 2026 came close to the milestone of 120,000 vehicles sold, marking the strongest monthly result since the beginning of the year. However, due to the high base effect of last year, year-on-year sales growth did not exceed 1%.
The market maintained positive momentum despite cautious forecasts and the situation in the fuel market. The tenth consecutive reduction of the key interest rate is a positive signal that is gradually improving consumer sentiment, although its impact will take time to materialize.
We hope the current growth trend will continue. Further stabilization of the key interest rate, a stable exchange rate, government support measures, the availability of demand stimulation programs, and the overall predictability of the business environment will all have a significant impact. Under a favorable combination of these factors, the
market may continue to grow in the second half of the year."
