New car market in Russia: January, 2013 figures are released

The first month of 2013 saw sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia increase by 5% compared with January 2012 or by 7,464 sold units, according to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee (AEB AMC). Among the top ten bestselling models of passenger cars so far, nine are produced in Russia.

Top 10 brands in January, 2013
Lada: 30,037 units
Renault: 14,741 units
Hyundai: 11,306 units
Kia: 11,059 units
Volkswagen: 10,668 units (including VW NFZ)
Chevrolet: 9,542 units
Nissan: 8,925 units
Toyota: 6,860 units
Ford: 6,364 units
Daewoo: 5,693 units
