New car market in Russia: December, 2012 and full-year figures are released

Year 2012 saw sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia increase by 11% compared with 2011 or by 281.308 more sold units according to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee (AEB AMC).

According to a recent report by AEB there were 2,935,111 new passenger cars and LCVs sold in Russia last year.

Top 10 brands in 2012. (based on cumulative PC and LCV sales:
Lada: 537,625 units
Chevrolet: 205,042 units
Renault: 189,852 units
Kia: 187,330 units
Volkswagen: 180,863 units (including VW NFZ)
Hyundai: 174,286 units
Nissan: 153,747 units
Toyota: 153,047 units
Ford: 130,809 units
Skoda: 99,062 units
