Metaldyne Expands in Eastern Europe to Support Global Growth

“Metaldyne’s expansion in Eastern Europe allows us to further support the increased manufacturing needs of our customers,” said Thomas Amato, Metaldyne’s president & CEO. “This new location will be closely aligned with Metaldyne’s other facility in the Czech Republic, which will provide operational efficiencies as we expand in the region.”

Metaldyne will first focus on expanding certain technologies within the Zbýšov plant which will support growth within its forging and machining product lines. Metaldyne uses cold and warm forging, as well as secondary machining operations, to manufacture differential side gears and pinions, hollowed transmission shafts, transmission sliding sleeves, drivetrain splined sleeves, and other drivetrain components for several OEMs and leading Tier-1 suppliers.
Production at the Metaldyne Zbýšov plant is anticipated to begin by the end of 2012.
