Kromberg & Schubert to Start Construction of a New Plant in Macedonia Soon

The €20 million facility is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2012. Final decision on the investment was passed in February, resulting from a long-term study initiated in 2008, including complete analysis of Macedonia and other countries through a number of relevant business factors, the company said.

Kromberg & Schubert plans to hire 400-500 people in the initial stage of the project, whereas it expects to employ over 2,500 employees when the plant reaches full capacity. The Bitola factory will produce electric wires and cable harnesses for European carmakers.

Kromberg & Schubert has a wide presence in the Central and Eastern European region with manufacturing operations in Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. The German family-owned company has an over 100-year-long history and produces on-board networks, cables, plastic technology and mechatronics.

Germany-based Kromberg & Schubert GmbH & Co. KG will soon start building a new manufacturing plant in Bitola, southwestern Macedonia
