During the five year period the employees in the local Engine shop assembled over 1,2 million petrol and diesel engines.
Kia has already invested €1.2 billion in Slovakia. Local subsidiary Kia Motors Slovakia (KMS) is the country’s third biggest exporter and the fifth biggest producer. Currently it employs more than 3,900 people and another thousands of positions were created by its suppliers. Thanks to the investments into the production of new models as well as an increased number of orders the company is preparing for the launch of the third work shift in the first quarter of 2012 and volume production of a new model in the second quarter of next year.
Since the volume production was launched in December 2006 in Zilina, more than 970,000 vehicles have rolled off production lines and sold in approximately 50 countries
