Jopp to Acquire Haas-Group

Jopp Group, a Germany-based automotive component and system supplier, will take over bankrupt Haas GmbH as of June 1st, 2011 as part of an asset deal. The purchase agreement was signed by insolvency administrator Joachim Exner and Dr. Hubert Büchs, CEO of Jopp Holding GmbH. The acquisition also includes Haas Group’s subsidiaries in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Mexico.

Based in Bad Neustadt / Saale, Jopp Group develops and manufactures transmission related components and modules for passenger cars. The company employs about 1,000 employees at locations in Germany, the Czech Republic and China.

The Haas Group is a manufacturer of polyurethane foam parts and injection molded plastic components. With operations in Reichenschwand (Germany), Szolnok (Hungary), Kdyne (Czech Republic) and Tlaxco (Mexico), the group employs some 500 workers, including 81 employees in Germany.

Jopp Group is to take over German supplier Haas GmbH as of June 1st.
