The Iranian auto industry and new car market is getting a lot of interest as Hyundai, PSA, Renault and others are busy signing up new production deals. We are happy to announce that we can provide you production and import data. As the Iranian calendar is slightly different from the Gregorian calendar, we have made some adjustments. So the period we cover here lasted from the 10th month of Iranian year 1395 'til the 4th month of 1396.
During this time there were 53,266 new passenger cars and LCV imported according to data compiled by the Iran Customs Office. In the list of imported brands Hyundai, Toyota, Lexus, Renault and Mitsubishi are taking the lead.

As for production. Iran Khodro and SAIPA (which includes Pars Khodro and Zamyad as well) are the front runners. Kerman Motors, a privately owned company has teamed up with Hyundai, while its subsidiary, Modiran Vehicle Manufacturing is doing great business with Chery.
