GRODZISK WIELKOPOLSKI, Poland - Seat upholstery and seat system manufacturer Inter Groclin Auto SA has been awarded an over €80 million’ contract from General Motors to supply seat covers to the Astra IV produced in Gliwice/Poland and Ellesmere Port/United Kingdom. The company, which already successfully passed GM’s quality system and manufacturing process audits, will start serial production of seat covers for the Astra in the second quarter of 2011. The total value of the contract exceeds €80 million, with a 5 to 7 years contract duration. Restructuring measures will help the company to implement the order, for which no additional investment will be required.
Inter Groclin has three production plants in located in Karpicko, Grodzisk Wielkopolski and Nowa Sol. The company also operates a facility in Uzgorod, western Ukraine. Production is dominated by seat covers (more than 90% of the output) for OEM's like Ford, Volvo, Mitsubishi, Renault, Volkswagen, Porsche. Inter Groclin also has Tier 1 customers like Johnson Controls, Faurecia, Recaro, etc.
Polish company will supply seat covers to both Poland and United Kingdom
