Hella Acquires 50 Percent Interest in Remanufacturing Company MD Rebuilt Parts

MD Rebuilt Parts GmbH has 25 years experience in remanufacturing starters, generators, electric motors and drive shafts. The remaining shares have been acquired by the internationally renowned remanufacturing expert Jens Lindholm, who will take on the role of the company's Managing Director.

As a result of its acquisition of this SME, which has its headquarters in the German town of Illingen in the Saarland and achieved a turnover of 8 million euros in the last financial year with its workforce of 130 employees, Hella has consolidated its own position within the promising remanufacturing sector. Compared with the production of new products, CO2 emissions can be reduced by reworking used vehicle parts, allowing resources to be saved on a sustainable basis. At the same time, the acquisition means that Hella is able to expand its product range and build on existing market shares. MD Rebuilt Parts GmbH also includes the subsidiary MD Hungária Kft. with its headquarters in Hernád, Hungary. The two shareholders plan to continue investing in the German and Hungarian production sites.

German automotive supplier Hella has acquired a 50 percent share in MD Rebuilt Parts GmbH with locations in Germany and Hungary
