Hawtai Motor Group May Set Up Assembly Operations in Russia

Rongcheng HawTai Automobile Co. Ltd., a Chinese vehicle manufacturer, plans to assemble first generation Santa Fe SUVs under Hyundai license in Russia. The first batch of 120 assembly kits are already prepared for shipment, which will be followed by other 690 units equipped with 2.0l diesel engines.

Hawtai’s Russian partner has not been announced yet, but it is known that the local assembly will be carrieout using CKD production method which includes welding and painting of the vehicle bodies.
