South Korea’s Hankook Tire has launched production at its new 56 thousand square metre manufacturing hall in Rácalmás after finishing a €230 million investment to expand its existing site in Central Hungary. Hankook Tire Magyarország Kft. began operations in 2007 and has a 1,900 strong workforce. The Rácalmás facility is said to be one of the most modern tyre plant in the world, currently producing 30,000 tires a day in 350 different sizes for passenger cars, SUVs and LCVs. When operating at full capacity, the factory will churn out about 35 thousand tyres a day, or 11 million tyres annually.
