South Korean automotive supplier Daechang Seat Co., Ltd. will build a factory for €7 to 8 million in Trinec in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic, local newswire CTK reports. On June 24th, the company signed a contract with the city to purchase land in the industrial zone of Baliny for CZK 5.7 million (about €230 thousand).
The company, which manufactures steel seat structures for Hyundai’s and Kia’s nearby plants, plans to move production from its current site in rented premises in the industrial zone of Ostrava Hrabova to the new factory in order to expand production. Construction works on the new facility will start next spring and expected to be finished by autumn 2012.
Initially, the company will employ approximately 300 people on a three-shift schedule, but the number of workforce may reach 500 within three to four years.
