The new factory will be a part of ContiTech’s Fluid Technology business, with its production dedicated to hoses/hose lines for the automotive industry. The plot for the production hall, which will have an initial area of 7,000 square meters, is located in the duty-free zone in Mali Bajmok Industrial Park. Construction is expected to start in November. The extension of the site near the Hungarian border is already planned. Continental’s investment will create up to 300 new jobs in Serbia over the next five years.

In 2009, ContiTech had bought the Serbian conveyor belt company Kolubara Univerzal and has since produced conveyor belts in Veliki Crljeni, south of Belgrade, for the Central and Eastern European market.
