Citroën Launches Production of the New C4 in Russia

French car manufacturer PSA Peugeot Citroën has commenced serial production of the new Citroën C4 hatchback at its jointly-owned Russian assembly plant with Mitsubishi. The Kaluga-based facility will churn out a total of 11 thousand C4s this year, including 7 thousand units of the new model. Locally-built new Citroën C4s will be offered with the 1.6 Vti 120 petrol unit as the sole engine option, connected to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The new C4 is being built along with the Peugeot 308 hatch and the Peugeot 4007/Citroën С-Crosser/Mitsubishi Outlander XL SUVs from SKD assembly kits.

With its 70% share, PSA Peugeot Citroën is the majority owner of the facility, while 30% belongs to Japanese Mitsubishi.
