Bosch Expects Decision Soon on New Greenfield Plant in Romania

German group Bosch plans to build a new plant in Romania through a greenfield investment and expand the equipment parts production plants in Blaj, said the company’s local GM Brigitte Eble, quoted by Mediafax. Bosch plans to hire up to 300 people in Romania this year for its Rexroth plant and the communication center in Timisoara. The company also estimates for 2011 an increase in turnover by 7% to €172 million. Last year, Bosch reported a turnover of €161 million, up 17% compared to 2009. Up to 60% of the company’s turnover in Romania comes from the auto segment, which covers the aftermarket parts sales and components for car manufacturers.

Bosch has been present in Romania since 1994 and owns five companies: Robert Bosch, which distributes car parts and equipments, thermo-technical and electric equipments; BSH Electrocasnics, which imports and distributes home appliances under the Bosch and Siemens brand; Bosch-Rexroth, which distributes heavy machinery components; Bosch-Rexroth plant in Blaj, which manufactures electric equipments and heavy machinery parts; and the Bosch Communication outsourcing services center in Timisoara.
