AvtoVAZ Posts Six Successive Decline in Monthly Production

The negative trend leads back to shifting production of the Lada 2104-2107 (Classic series) to the Izhevsk car plant, the preparation for the production of the Lada Granta, as well as to the decline in demand for Lada cars now that the local scrappage program has ended.
However, in the first ten months of 2011 AvtoVAZ assembled 482,460 cars, which represents a 10.8% growth in production year-on-year.

The most produced model in October was the Lada Priora with 14,752 cars were produced (33.4% of the total production), followed by the Lada Kalina with 11,844 units and the Lada Samara with 10,671 units. Last month, AvtoVAZ also assembled 5,406 Lada 4x4/Niva SUVs and started pre-series production of the Lada Granta.

AvtoVAZ has been reducing production for six consecutive months. October saw a 22% drop in monthly production to 44,205 cars
