Avtoframos to Add Capacity, Three New Models

Additionally, the number of locally produced models will grow from current four to seven, said Bruno Anselen, the General Manager of Renault in Russia and in the CIS Countries. According to him, the planned capacity expansion will be completed by mid-2012 and will be used for the SKD assembly of Renault Koleos, Latitude and Duster vehicles, of which the latter will enter production at the site already next month. Ancelen also said that Avtoframos will add CKD assembly of the Fluence sedan, while for the production of the Megane it will further use SKD kits.

The Moscow plant increased production by 72.2 percent to 98,778 vehicles in the first nine months of 2011, and the company expects to build a total of over 130 thousand units by the end the year.

The facility currently builds the Megane, Fluence, Logan and Sandero vehicles, the latter two models also for export markets like Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus.

Renault plans to invest €100 million to boost annual production capacity of its Moscow plant from the current 160,000 to 175,000 units
