Autoliv Expands in Poland, Sets Up New Plant in Romania

Expansion of the production and administration buildings at the Jelcz-Laskowice site is expected to start in the spring and will be completed in six months. The plant, which currently manufactures seat belts, will add production of airbags by mid-2012.

Autoliv will establish a steering wheel production plant in Sfantu Gheorghe, Romania, on the premises of LRO S.r.l.’s former textile factory, where it plans to employ 600 workers. Production at the 13,000 square meter hall will commence in the second half of 2012, with a daily capacity of 3,000 steering wheels.

Swedish automotive safety systems supplier Autoliv Inc. plans to expand its plant in Jelcz-Laskowice, Poland, and open a new facility in Sfantu Gheorghe, Romania
