Allison Transmission Inaugurates New Facility in Hungary

The investment was necessary because of a capacity expansion at the local Opel plant, where Allison Transmission has based its Hungarian production for ten years.

Allison Transmission chairman-CEO Lawrence E Dewey said the company was very satisfied with the local labour force and with their dependable and high quality work.

Allison Transmission makes Series 3000 and 4000 as well as Torqmatic automatic transmissions for buses, commercial vehicles, fire trucks and military vehicles.

The company will soon establish a mechanics centre at the plant as well as a 15-hectare test track, it was announced at the inauguration.
