All-New Toyota Camry Production Begins in Russia

Production of the all-new Toyota Camry started today at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Russia (TMMR). The all-new Toyota Camry is offered with a choice of two petrol engines: a newly developed 4-cylinder, 2.5-litre petrol engine, and an upgraded 3.5-litre, Euro V compliant, V6 petrol engine. Both engine variants are fitted with a 6-speed automatic transmission, offering reduced fuel consumptions of 24% and 8% respectively between the powertrains.

From the second half of 2010, a comprehensive training programme was introduced for members on the assembly line, designed to further improve built-in quality levels.

TMMR started production in December 2007 with a production capacity 20,000 vehicles a year. The St. Petersburg plant currently operates one shift, employing 1,200 people.

Toyota’s St. Petersburg manufacturing facility has been home to the Camry ever since December 2007 when production began for the previous generation of the model
